Analysis Group at the 2022 ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting

Senior members of Analysis Group’s Antitrust & Competition practice participated in panels and the mock trial at the American Bar Association (ABA) Antitrust Law Spring Meeting in April of 2022.

The Spring Meeting covered topics ranging from the fundamentals of antitrust economics to online platforms and digital markets to the latest debates on the consumer welfare standard. We interviewed some of the Analysis Group participants about their experiences representing the viewpoint of the expert economist:

• In “Would a Merger of Online Platforms Lessen Competition?”, Managing Principal Dov Rothman talks about acting as the testifying economist for the defense in the Spring Meeting Mock Trial.
• In “The Ongoing Tale of Two-Sided Markets,” Managing Principal Divya Mathur discusses the evolution of antitrust litigation for two-sided markets since the Supreme Court’s Ohio v. American Express Co. decision.

In addition, Managing Principal Jee-Yeon Lehmann participated on a panel on recent enforcement actions challenging restraints on competition for employees. She discusses Analysis Group’s work in that area in an accompanying article in this edition of Forum, “New Bottles for Old Wine? A New Focus on Antitrust in Labor Markets.”
