Assessment of Alleged Postal Fraud

An Analysis Group case team led by Managing Principal Jeff Malinak was retained by outside counsel for a publisher of several major magazines to conduct interviews and analyze internal company data to determine the existence and magnitude of suspected postal fraud in certain parts of the company. Outside counsel and Mr. Malinak presented the results of Analysis Group's confidential findings, including the likely volume of underpaid postage and appropriate settlement amounts, to in-house Counsel and upper management. The firm proactively notified the postal service and other appropriate authorities and fired the employees involved. No charges or proceedings were filed against the company or its management, nor were significant fines paid.
