AT&T Telecommunications Dispute over U-verse Equipment
Analysis Group worked on behalf of AT&T in a dispute with a coalition of community organizations over the installation of utility cabinets, as part of AT&T's network upgrade project, in the city of San Francisco. The coalition alleged that the city improperly exempted the AT&T project from environmental review, a practice mandated by the California Environmental Quality Act. Principal David Sosa prepared a declaration describing the potential benefits to consumers if AT&T were allowed to bring digital video service to the local market, in the form of lower prices, improved service quality, and improved customer satisfaction. He also described the potential benefits of this network upgrade project to the local economy in terms of increased employment and local revenues. In a positive outcome for our client, a California Superior Court judge found that the city's Board of Supervisors was justified in exempting the project from review.
