Boston Symphony Orchestra Compensation Analysis
Analysis Group worked on behalf of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in salary negotiations with the musicians' union. President Pierre Cremieux led a team that applied state-of-the-art econometric techniques to national databases from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to analyze relative wages for symphony orchestra employees of comparable education and background. The database contained information on symphony orchestra employees in 11 cities. Our analysis showed geographical variation in compensation and provided a foundation for fruitful negotiation.
