Confidential Wetlands Contamination Case

Analysis Group supported a prominent academic affiliate in a lawsuit against a petroleum refinery over industrial emissions at wetlands sites. Analysis Group reviewed the literature on wetlands valuation and the benefit transfer methodology and supported the expert in his evaluation of the plaintiff’s analysis. The expert concluded that the plaintiff’s use of benefit transfer to estimate economic damages was neither reliable nor methodologically sound and did not reflect generally accepted practices in environmental and resource economics.
