In re: Starz Stockholder Litigation
Analysis Group was retained by Lions Gate Entertainment (Lionsgate), the defendants in a shareholder class action challenging Lionsgate’s $4.4 billion acquisition of Starz Entertainment (Starz) in 2016. The claimants alleged that as part of the deal, their Starz shares were unfairly converted to nonvoting Lionsgate shares, and requested an appraisal of shares held in Starz.
Analysis Group supported affiliate James Trautman, who opined on broad industry trends affecting firms operating in the video content development and distribution sectors, and how the structural changes in the industry are spurring merger activity. He was supported by a team that included Managing Principal Gaurav Jetley, Principal Na Dawson, and Vice President Carletta Wong.
