Mobile Telecommunications Technologies LLC v. Samsung Telecommunications America LLC

A jury in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found in favor of Analysis Group client Samsung Telecommunications America LLC in a patent infringement suit brought by Mobile Telecommunications Technologies LLC (MTEL). The plaintiff claimed that Samsung's mobile devices messaging services infringed on two of its patents, which describe systems and methods for transmitting two-way messages between mobile users, and sought damages for the alleged infringement. An Analysis Group team, led by Principal Robert Vigil and Vice President John Browning, was retained by Greenberg Traurig LLP, counsel for Samsung, to assess damages related to the patents at issue in the suit. Dr. Vigil prepared an expert report and delivered testimony at deposition and trial. The court found that Samsung was not liable for infringement.
