Overtime Pay Dispute
Analysis Group was retained by a major retail company being sued under the California Labor Code for allegedly misclassifying employees as exempt employees, and therefore failing to pay them overtime. Our work focused on determining whether there were meaningful differences in time allocated between exempt and nonexempt job duties across a class of employees, and whether these patterns correlated with other employee or store attributes. We analyzed personnel data, time and motion studies, and survey data to determine whether the differences were statistically significant.
