St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc. v. Toshiba Corp. et al.
A team from Analysis Group, led by Managing Principal John Jarosz and Principal Robert Vigil, was retained by counsel on behalf of Toshiba Corp. to evaluate the plaintiff's claimed damages and to provide expert testimony in a patent infringement dispute. Plaintiff St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc., a patent assertion entity, accused Toshiba and several other laptop manufacturers of infringing St. Clair's patent for a system that controls the voltage delivered to pluggable computer cards. After deliberating for less than three hours, a Delaware federal jury found in favor of Toshiba on all claims, citing that Toshiba's laptops do not infringe the patent in question. No damages were awarded to St. Clair.
