Summer Associate Intern
The summer associate intern position is an introduction to the world of economic consulting. Summer associates work on complex business problems within an inclusive and collaborative environment. They are assigned to work on case teams to experience the role of an associate and may work on multiple projects at a time across various practice areas and industries.
Summer associate interns formulate economic and financial models and present the results of their findings. They think creatively about ways to address clients’ business challenges, and are committed to teamwork, inclusion, collaborative problem solving, continuous learning, and professional development. They collaborate with leading academic and in-house experts, seek mentorship from experienced consultants within the firm, and mentor junior colleagues in turn.
Generalist associate interns have opportunities to work on litigation, regulatory, M&A, and other legal-related matters with Analysis Group colleagues, professors from leading institutions, counsel from premier law firms, and corporate and government clients. Health care associate interns – who are staffed to the HEOR, Epidemiology & Market Access practice – develop experience in life science fields and have opportunities to work closely with our in-house health care experts and with teams from leading pharmaceutical companies.
Analysis Group fosters an academically oriented work environment with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration across multiple areas of expertise. Onboarding and Training Programs: Analysis Group offers best-in-class learning opportunities for employees at all levels. We provide summer associate interns with preparatory training for case work, as well as opportunities to get to know the role of a full-time associate, learn about the firm, and develop professional relationships.
Analytical and Coding Skills Coursework: We provide summer associate interns with training in the core analytical skills critical to their case work. This coursework strengthens associates’ understanding of the firm’s best practices in Excel and in SAS, Stata, R, VBA, and Python coding.
Analysis Group University (AGU): Our interns can access our centralized online learning portal and view hundreds of training videos, presentations, and other targeted training content on demand. Technical and nontechnical trainings are available.
Summer Programming: Over the course of the experience, the intern cohort attends topical presentations to get to know the firm, how we work, our people, and our practice areas. We also host senior staff touchpoints so that interns can network with leaders at the firm to learn about their career paths and our culture.
Mentorship: Providing a strong support system on day one is very important to us. Interns will have a peer mentor and advisor who will guide them through their summer experience, support their onboarding experience, and help them network with individuals outside their case team.
Evaluation and Assessment: As they conclude their internships, summer associate interns are evaluated for the opportunity to return to Analysis Group as full-time associates. If interns are offered a full-time position and accept, the firm will invest in their professional development and growth, and will provide multidimensional support if they plan to complete their graduate degree.
We choose a case team for every summer associate intern when they join us. However, our full-time associates engage in Analysis Group’s internal labor market, which allows them to choose their case work based on their interests. Summer associate interns may work on multiple cases during their summer with us.
You will work with more than just your own cohort at Analysis Group. You will have opportunities to work with analysts and other associates, but you will also interact with senior staff, law firms, industry leaders, and experts within their fields.
