What should candidates expect from the analyst and associate interview process?

The first-round interview will be behavior based and conducted virtually. Analysis Group does not conduct formal case interviews. The final-round interview is typically in person, though virtual options are available.

  • Analyst: The final-round interview will consist of meetings with roughly three to five consultants in both formal and conversational settings. Throughout your interviews, you should expect questions about your research, prior work and internship experience, teamwork and leadership, and career interests. Please be prepared to talk through your own experience working on a research or quantitative project such as a project that involved analyzing quantitative data, a task from an internship that involved building a model, or a research paper that you wrote for a college course.
  • Associate: In general, the final-round interview will consist of four to eight meetings with consultants in both formal and conversational settings. There is variation in the interview process depending on your degree type. Throughout your interviews, you should expect questions about your experience (research and prior work and internship experiences), leadership and collaboration style, and career interests. Ph.D. candidates are asked to present on their research with a job talk presentation. Please be prepared to highlight your critical thinking, analytical, and interpersonal skill sets.

Does Analysis Group hire foreign nationals to work in its offices?

Analysis Group sponsors work authorization for our consultant and data science positions. We have a dedicated immigration and mobility team that works closely with candidates and employees who require visa or work permit support. Please note that we do not sponsor work authorization for administrative positions. All of our job descriptions clearly outline the responsibilities of each role, as well as whether sponsorship is available. We encourage all applicants to review job postings carefully before applying.

We are proud to employ a diverse, international pool of top talent from across the globe and believe this diversity strengthens our firm. We do, however, consider work authorization as a factor in the recruiting process, and there are times when it can play a role in hiring decisions.

Are there opportunities to work remotely at Analysis Group?

At AG, we are committed to developing and retaining talent and want to foster an environment in which we are as happy and productive as possible. We believe it’s best for us to be together in the office most of the time, and that our collective presence in the office is vitally important for the collaboration, mentorship, networking, and cultural cohesion that make AG such a special place. We also believe that over the long term, most of us will have more career growth and offer better support to one another if we are in the office a significant amount. For that reason, we ask all AG employees to be in the office at least three days per week in a typical week. Additionally, we recommend that all new hires are in the office as much as possible in their first year – ideally four to five days a week – given the benefit of in-person interactions for mentoring and developing strong networks. We also value flexibility and in some cases, we provide additional opportunities for people to work remotely, taking into consideration role, tenure, firm contributions, and geography.
