Vice President, Boston

How has the firm changed since you started?
Because the firm has grown substantially since I started as a summer analyst back in 2013, we’ve needed to add structures and processes over time to support that growth (e.g., more resources to help the “internal labor market” operate more smoothly, working group meetings so we hear more easily what others in a practice area are doing and learning, and so on). I think AG has done a good job of incrementally adding what is needed, while still maintaining the flexibility and customization that makes AG unique.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I like finding low-effort/high-reward hikes (preferably along rivers), and I play violin in a community orchestra and in a string quartet. I also enjoy cooking spicy food and have recently started trying to grow my own peppers — we’ll see how they fare!
How has AG supported you throughout your career?
My mentors at AG are thinking about my professional development even when I may not be actively thinking about it myself. When cases are busy, it can be hard to take a step back and think about what you want to do next and how you want to grow, but the partners I work with are somehow always thinking about that on my behalf. That has been true throughout my career here, and because I’ve really appreciated that kind of support, I find myself in turn reflexively thinking about how to guide and support the people I work with and create opportunities for them.
What makes AG special?
I love that I don’t feel like I have to regularly toot my own horn here — the AG culture is one where your colleagues brag for you, you brag for your colleagues, and there is very much a spirit of sharing information and sharing credit. Even though we work with high standards and expectations, the culture doesn’t feel competitive, and I feel like collaboration is encouraged and rewarded.

Because of that collaborative dynamic, I also think case teams do really enjoy getting to know each other on a personal level, from analysts to partners. We can go seamlessly from debating about how to approach an analysis, to picking out (or making) funny gifts for a colleague’s birthday, to doing an escape room together.
