- Why did you choose Analysis Group?
- I originally came here after earning my master’s degree in economics. Analysis Group seemed like it was the right mix of academic-style rigor and exposure to real business problems.
- What do you work on at Analysis Group?
- I work on a wide assortment of cases. Recently, most of my work has been related to finance, but I also have substantial experience in the energy and environment matters. So far in my career, I’ve had cases related to wholesale electricity markets, eminent domain, trade disputes, and even one about the crushed rocks industry! I feel like there’s something new to learn on every case, which is both an opportunity and a challenge for me.
- What new experiences have you had since joining Analysis Group?
- I’ve gotten a lot of small team management experience within my case teams, and have more of a “traffic cop” type role in delegating work. Additionally, I’ve been involved with performance reviews as an advisor to three analysts, which has been quite rewarding. It’s great to see analysts progress from a brand new hire to an subject matter or technical expert over time.
- What is it like to work in your office? What is the culture there?
- San Francisco is one of the smallest offices, and I think it shows in our tight-knit culture. We have lunch together every day around 12:30 in the common break room and do the crossword in The Wall Street Journal. There have also been a couple of fun off-sites – including the ski trip – where everyone can relax a bit and bond.
- What do you do when you’re not working?
- I’m an avid cyclist, and I’m taking full advantage of the year-round mild weather of Northern California!
