Associate, Montreal

What motivated you to pursue a career at AG?
After completing my graduate studies, I sought an intellectually challenging and fast-paced work environment that offered opportunities to explore and learn about different industries and practices. Most importantly, I wanted a supportive workplace that emphasized collegiality.
How were your first few weeks or months at Analysis Group?
When I joined AG, the Montreal office was engaged in a high-profile case, and I quickly had the opportunity to contribute as a new hire. Multiple offices were involved, and I was impressed by the productivity of the cross-office collaborations. Additionally, AG’s collegial atmosphere made spending time at the office particularly enjoyable. Conversations around the coffee machine or at lunch offered opportunities to network, learn about ongoing cases, and potentially join new case teams.
Can you share a memorable experience working with an affiliate or expert (if you have worked with any)?
I worked on a case in the energy sector where the team frequently organized brainstorming sessions with a renowned professor specializing in macroeconomics. I recall how the inputs from the expert and all team members – both junior and senior – contributed to the strategies we later employed. To me, this was a great demonstration of the productivity of a flat organizational structure and the collaboration between industry and academia.
How does your experience at AG compare to your time in grad school?
At AG, I dedicate my time to helping clients solve complex practical problems, often with short turnaround times. The immediate and tangible impact of the work contrasts with my graduate school research experience, which often involved significant delays before the outcomes came to fruition.
What new skills, knowledge, or experiences have you gained at AG?
The skill I have developed most at AG is initiating and maintaining prompt communication with clients and colleagues. This communication is crucial, particularly when facing tight deadlines, to ensure good coordination among team members and to respond effectively to urgent client requests.
What are your favorite activities/hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I try to balance out city life by spending as much time as possible engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, skiing, and camping.
