- Why did you choose AG?
- Having studied a variety of different of econometric and machine learning methods while completing my M.A. in economics, I wanted to work in an environment where I could put these skills into practice using a variety of data sources.
- What do you work on at AG?
- I work primarily in the HEOR, Epidemiology & Market Access practice. We work on studies that evaluate the economic burden of diseases and compare drug performance using methods drawn from the fields of epidemiology, econometrics, and machine learning. I also am a Python training coordinator.
- What new skills have you learned since joining AG?
- My technical skillset in SAS and Excel has greatly expanded since I joined AG. I have also refined my soft skills by communicating results to clients, balancing methodological considerations with client needs, and mentoring teammates.
- What new experiences have you had at AG?
- Working in the HEOR practice has allowed me to gain new experiences in epidemiology. For instance, I have expanded my statistical toolkit by working on studies that use survival analysis and inverse probability treatment weighting. I’ve also learned how to draft study protocols, posters, and manuscripts that will be submitted for publication.
- What is it like to work on a case team?
- Working on case teams has been a great part of the AG experience. Solving problems together is very efficient and allows for constant learning opportunities. The case team format allows us to both learn from others and pass on our own experience and knowledge. It is a pleasure to work with intelligent people every day.
- What is it like to work in your office? What is the culture there?
- The Montreal office culture is quite lively. People are always excited about the catering and snack choices here, and everyone always welcomes others - regardless of seniority or practice area - to join their table in the cafeteria. There are many fun office events throughout the year that bring people together. Also, the office provides an environment that makes it easy to be productive.
- What do you do when you’re not working?
- There are many great things to do in Montreal in both summer and winter. In the summer, I like to run along the Lachine Canal, get groceries from Montreal’s various markets, play softball, and go to the Montreal International Jazz Festival. In the winter, I snowboard and explore the vibrant restaurant scene here.
