Summary of Experience
Professor Crane was a member of the Finance Faculty at Harvard Business School for a number of years, working primarily in the fields of financial institutions and markets, and more recently, corporate governance. He continues to teach in educational programs for boards of directors and financial institution executives. Professor Crane's research work has led to several coauthored books, including The Global Financial System: A Functional Perspective and Doing Deals: Investment Banks at Work. He has also published articles on financial institutions and markets, including "The Transformation of Banking" in Harvard Business Review. Dr. Crane held a number of leadership positions at the school, including senior associate dean for faculty development and director of research. He has been a consultant to financial institutions and companies in the United States and abroad and has served on the boards of start-up and smaller companies. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Legg Mason Partners Equity Funds, where he serves as the lead trustee.
