Summary of Experience
Professor McConnell has provided deposition and trial testimony in a number of securities and financial markets matters, and has testified before subcommittees of both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate. He has consulted to investment banks, government agencies (including the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Department of Justice), and more than 50 law firms, and has testified on such matters as valuation and pricing of financial derivatives, mortgage-backed securities, CMOs, stock and bond prices, corporate valuation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and money management and bank lending practices. Professor McConnell served as a member of the boards of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, the American Finance Association, Harrington Bank FSB, and Los Padres Bank FSB. He has published more than 75 articles in leading finance, economics, and management journals, including several papers on the valuation of firms, corporate assets, securities, and contracts. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the Annals of Finance, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Fixed Income, and the Real Estate Review.
