Dr. Carlos specializes in health economics and uses her knowledge of economic principles, econometrics, and data analysis to assist with complex business litigation in the health care sector. Her litigation experience includes expert witness support such as assisting with expert reports, deposition preparation, and trial preparation, assisting attorneys with discovery and case strategy. Dr. Carlos has been involved in matters related to the False Claims Act (FCA), Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), and Controlled Substances Act (CSA). She has also supported attorneys and business clients in matters involving controlled substances, including the design and implementation of suspicious order monitoring (SOM) programs. Dr. Carlos’ pro bono work has included managing a case team that created an interactive map of police violence in Louisiana for the ACLU of Louisiana.
