Dr. Beckford specializes in the application of microeconomics, econometrics, and statistical methods to questions arising in complex matters related to antitrust and competition, class certification, and policy evaluation. He has assisted clients and supported experts in the preparation of analyses, reports, and testimony across a broad range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, health care (providers and payers), information technology, consumer goods, agriculture, and energy. In health care matters, Dr. Beckford has supported testifying experts and counsel on issues related to alleged kickbacks, delayed generic entry, pharmaceutical promotion, ERISA violations, and product liability. In antitrust and competition matters, he has evaluated market definition, market power, and competitive dynamics, and analyzed class certification, liability, and damages issues in cases involving allegations of monopolization and monopsonization. Dr. Beckford’s antitrust research has been published in Competition Policy International.
