Summary of Experience
Dr. Kitashima specializes in conducting economic analysis and damages quantification in complex commercial disputes, including intellectual property, false advertising, class certification, and breach of contract matters. Her litigation experience in patent infringement matters includes evaluation of reasonable royalties, lost profits, and price erosion. These matters cover a broad range of industries such as mobile devices, video games, farming equipment, medical devices, software, and military equipment. Additionally, Dr. Kitashima has worked on numerous class certification issues involving medications, beverages, eyeglasses, laundry detergent, clothing, and automobiles. She has assisted in all phases of the litigation process, including discovery, expert reports, deposition, and trial. Prior to joining Analysis Group, Dr. Kitashima performed research on the economics of health, with a focus on the effects of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication on child outcomes, and received a pre-doctoral fellowship from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
