Dr. Tiererova specializes in the application of economics to business litigation matters and commercial disputes. She has extensive experience conducting analyses of large datasets and applying a wide range of empirical methods to complex economic questions, particularly within the context of class certification and damages analyses. Dr. Tiererova has worked on issues related to false advertising and consumer protection; privacy and data security; and various antitrust and competition matters involving allegations of price-fixing, evaluation of market structure, and analysis of competitive behavior between firms. Her work has covered a broad range of industries and products, including financial software, web services and social media, food delivery services, and cryptocurrency. She has supported academic affiliates from leading universities and assisted clients in all phases of the litigation process, from fact discovery and data production to class certification, quantification of damages, expert and trial testimony, and settlement negotiations. Dr. Tiererova has also assisted clients in mass arbitration proceedings and regulatory investigations. Her recent case work has involved the assessment of economic incentives in a false advertising matter; the analysis of workers’ earnings as compared to advertised wages; the support of an expert in litigations related to data breaches and privacy issues; the assessment of damages in a commercial dispute in the advertising industry; and the evaluation of price-fixing allegations against a major manufacturer of automobile components.
