Summary of Experience
Dr. Hearey’s work focuses on the application of economic theory and methods to questions arising in complex antitrust matters, consumer and business class action litigation, and commercial disputes. His experience includes analyses of a variety of markets, including digital advertising, consumer products, electricity, foreign exchange, interbank lending, medical services, and payment processing services. He has also evaluated competition and pricing, including for two-sided market platforms; financial performance, valuation, and risk; and causation and damages. Dr. Hearey has assisted clients and supported experts in all phases of the litigation process, including the preparation of expert reports, deposition testimony, and trial preparation. His engagements have included cases involving major banking institutions, consumer product manufacturers, information technology companies, medical services providers, payment processing networks, and government entities, among others. Dr. Hearey has authored working papers on common ownership in the airline industry and on the effects of income inequality on local school finance. His article on the economic history of urbanization was published in The Oxford Handbook of American Economic History. Prior to joining Analysis Group, Dr. Hearey was a teaching fellow and graduate student researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a senior research assistant at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
