Analysis Group Team Works Pro Bono with GHESKIO to Study Characteristics of Sexual Assault in Haiti

GHESKIO (Haitian Group for the Study for Kaposi's Sarcoma and Opportunistic Infections) is a Haitian-based organization founded in 1982 in response to the AIDS epidemic in that nation. Over the years, GHESKIO has expanded its mission to include maternal and child health, family planning, adolescent health, sanitation, cancer screening, vaccinations, and vocational and microcredit programs for both its AIDS/TB patients and the local community.

Analysis Group has offered pro bono medical services research to a number of GHESKIO projects. Most recently, Analysis Group analysts Mark Meiselbach and Ariadne Souroutzidis conducted research with GHESKIO's Sexual Assault Clinic. Based on data on nearly 5,000 sexual assault victims dating back to 2005, they have analyzed the characteristics of sexual assault in Haiti, as well as the association between these characteristics and psychological consequences.
