Summary of Experience
Mr. Siegel is an expert in financial accounting and has over 30 years of experience as an accounting standard setter, auditor, and equity researcher. His career has focused on enhancing transparency in investor communication channels, both within and beyond regulatory filings. As a director at RiskMetrics Group, Mr. Siegel led a team of more than twenty analysts in the US and London in conducting forensic financial statement analysis designed to detect early warning signs of underappreciated business deterioration. He served as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) for 10 years and was also a member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (now the International Sustainability Standards Board). In his role at FASB, Mr. Siegel was instrumental in the areas of financial statement presentation, financial performance reporting, and disclosure framework. He also served on the FASB Investors Technical Advisory Committee. Mr. Siegel has authored numerous articles on accounting topics and was a frequent guest on CNBC and a variety of financial television programs. In addition to founding Metrix Advisory, he is currently a senior advisor at Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group and an executive in residence at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. A certified public accountant, Mr. Siegel, who has been a partner with EY and PwC, started his career in audit and litigation support at Arthur Andersen.
