Summary of Experience

Dr. Maber applies economic theory and data analysis to complex disputes involving accounting, performance measurement, and valuation. He has worked with government agencies and private companies in matters before the American Arbitration Association, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the US International Trade Commission (ITC), the US Tax Court, and other legal forums. He has experience in the oil and gas, semiconductors, software, and consumer electronics industries. Dr. Maber supports clients and expert witnesses throughout all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation consulting and discovery to expert report development, depositions, and trial, and has provided deposition testimony. His peer-reviewed research and invited discussions have been published in academic journals. He has also served on the editorial boards of Journal of Management Accounting Research and Contemporary Accounting Research and as a reviewer for numerous journals, including The Accounting Review, The Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, the Journal of Corporate Finance, and Management Science. Dr. Maber previously held faculty appointments at the University of Southern California, the University of Michigan, and California Polytechnic State University, where he chaired the Budget and Long-Range Planning Committee and served on the Campus Advisory Council to the President for Planning, Process, and Budget. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in managerial and cost accounting and has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences and universities.
