Engineering Systems
Analysis Group has deep experience with the technology of engineering systems across a wide variety of industries, including computer hardware, aerospace, and automotive. We bring this expertise to bear in litigation matters that also demand sophisticated knowledge of economics, finance, and business practices. We have particular experience with matters involving the manufacturing of semiconductors, printed circuit board assemblies, and other computer system components. Our capability in these areas has been a critical asset in matters dealing with the valuation of intellectual property, liability and damages arguments in antitrust cases, commercial disputes, and tax and transfer pricing matters, including litigation involving regulatory agencies and private companies.
Our consultants’ and experts’ experience with these technologies includes:
- Analyzing a variety of hardware-related technologies, including microprocessors, graphics cards, hard drives, networks, and smartphones
- Working with an expert in application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design to review the work product of a microchip design firm in a dispute with a bitcoin miner
- Examining a company’s disclosures to determine whether the results of in-space experiments involving satellite technology were accurately conveyed to investors
Some of Analysis Group’s clients in these cases include firms such as Apple, Qualcomm, DIRECTV, Nortel, Intel, LG, Hitachi, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, Microsoft, AT&T, and Verizon. We have also worked on behalf of regulatory agencies such as the US Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
