Summary of Experience
Dr. Saeger specializes in applying economic and financial analysis to complex disputes, with a particular focus on international arbitrations and litigation related to financial institutions, energy, and tax issues. He has led teams supporting academic and industry experts in a variety of cases, including investor-state arbitrations related to the supervision and regulation of failed banks, litigation arising from the 2008 global financial crisis, disputes related to the practices of private equity managers, and tax and transfer pricing disputes. He assists clients in all stages of disputes, including identifying and supporting experts, aiding in the preparation of expert reports, and providing support in depositions, trials, and hearings.
Prior to joining Analysis Group, Dr. Saeger served in several roles focused on international financial policy and bank regulatory issues. While at the US Department of the Treasury, he was deputy director of the Office of East Asian Nations during the Asian financial crisis and special assistant to Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Timothy Geithner. Dr. Saeger also worked on banking supervision issues at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, where his responsibilities included analysis of the Japanese banking crisis and leadership of the bank’s International Supervision Unit.
